Code of Conduct for Teachers

  • Teachers should arrive at school 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of class. This provides time for teachers to prepare for the lesson.

  • Teachers should diligently prepare the lesson and mark their students’ homework.

  • Teachers should develop teaching according to Real Chinese Academy’s standards of teaching, respond promptly to any challenge in teaching and make suggestions.

  • Teachers should upload homework to Classroom and the class WeChat group the day after each class.

  • Teachers should clean the classroom after each lesson to ensure that the space is clean and tidy.

  • If a teacher detects an abnormal situation, they should contact immediately Real Chinese Academy and the pupils’ parents.

  • Teachers are responsible for keeping pupils safe. After class, teachers should hand over the pupils to their parents.

  • If a pupil is absent for 3 consecutive classes, teachers should notify Real Chinese Academy’s Management Team.

  • Teachers should attend internal and external training activities for professional development.

Code of Conduct for Teaching Assistants

  • Teaching assistants should arrive at school 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of class. This provides time for teaching assistants to help the class teacher get ready for the lesson.

  • Teaching assistants should support class teachers in the delivery of the lesson and maintain discipline in the classroom.

  • Should a pupil encounter any problem in the classroom, teaching assistants should inform their parents via the class teacher.

  • Teaching assistants should ensure pupils’ safety and together with the class teacher they should hand over the pupils to their parents or accompany them to other classes if necessary.

  • Teaching Assistants should help the class teacher to clean the classroom.

  • When accompanying pupils to the toilet, teaching assistants should check that the tap is turned off and the toilet is clean. If there is a blockage, teaching assistants should inform immediately the Headmaster.

Notice to Parents

General

  • Parents are expected to follow the school policies and procedures so as to ensure that school activities are delivered smoothly.

  • Parents should ensure that their child/ren get to class on time. If the student is unable to attend a class, parents should promptly inform the teacher.

  • Teaching content and homework are uploaded to Classroom and the class WeChat / WhatsApp group the day after each class.

  • To ensure the smooth delivery of school activities, parents should ensure that their children complete their homework.

  • The school may occasionally take photographs of the students; these photos will be used on the school website, social media, and for other marketing purposes. Parents who do not wish for their children to appear in photographs should inform the school.

  • Breaks during language classes are 10 to 15 minutes depending on the level of the class.

  • Parents should ensure that their child has water and snacks.

  • To ensure the safety of all pupils, any food containing nuts cannot be brought to school. Parents should inform the school about their child’s medical needs and/or allergies.

Trial Lessons

  • Trial lessons are offered to all new students so as to allocate them to the most appropriate class.

  • If after a trial lesson you decide not to sign up we will not charge you any fees. If you decide to sign up, the trial lesson fee will be included in the term tuition fee. Parents are kindly requested to attend the trial lesson and stay until the end of the lesson.

Tuition Fees and School Facilities

  • Parents are expected to pay the term tuition fee within two weeks after the start of each term.

  • If Real Chinese Academy cancels a course or if the course is cancelled due to unexpected circumstances, the tuition fee will be refunded in the following term.

  • Tuition fees will not be refunded if the pupil decides to leave, is absent without providing acceptable reasons, or withdraws during the term due to personal reasons.

  • Parents are expected to educate their children about the importance of respecting the school facilities. In the event of damage to property, parents will be held responsible, and the school can claim compensation.

Code of Conduct for Students

  • Students should attend every class and be punctual unless there is an acceptable reason.

  • Students should arrive at school with textbooks, homework, and the necessary stationery.

  • After class, students should complete the assigned homework on time.

  • Students should respect their teachers and classmates. Any issue should be reported to the class teacher.

  • Students are not allowed to make loud noises during break time. Pupils can move around classrooms and halls; they are not allowed to go to other places without authorization.

  • Students should not play with objects located in the classroom.

  • Litter should not be dropped and the classroom should be kept clean and tidy.
