Youth Chinese Test
Real Chinese Academy is a YCT official test centre accredited by the YCT Examination Bureau (Centre for Language Education and Cooperation).
About the YCT Exams
The YCT is an international standardised Chinese language test which is increasingly being recognised around the world. It is directed at examining non-native primary and secondary school students’ ability to apply the Chinese language in their daily lives and studies.
The YCT consists of two independent parts: a written test and an oral test.
The written test is made up of four levels: YCT Level 1, YCT Level 2, YCT Level 3, and YCT Level 4.
The oral test includes YCT Speaking (Basic) and YCT Speaking (Intermediate).
Many UK private and public schools refer to YCT test scores as a special language ability during the selection process.
Exam Arrangements
The school arranges an in-person exam every year.
The school encourages all native and non-native language students to take the YCT exam.

LAMDA Exams
Real Chinese Academy is also a LAMDA official test centre accredited by LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art).
About the LAMDA Exams
A LAMDA exam is the speech and drama equivalent of a music grade, which begins at basic levels and culminates at Grade 8. The exams use performance to develop self-confidence, physical presence and a strong speaking voice.
LAMDA exams cover a range of disciplines including:
Acting
Miming
Reading for Performance
Speaking in Public*
Speaking Verse & Prose*
*We currently only offer Speaking Verse & Prose and Speaking in Public classes.
Exams can be taken at different levels:
Entry Level
Level 1 - Grades 1, 2 & 3
Level 2 - Grades 4, & 5
Level 3 - Grades 6, 7 & 8 (known as Bronze, Silver & Gold)

The school encourages all public speaking students to take a LAMDA exam.
Exam Benefits
Level Three Solo/Duo qualifications (Grades 6 and up) are included in the UCAS Tariff. This means that if you pass those exams you can claim points to help you with university entry in the UK.
Not only that, but the qualifications can also give your child extra confidence in their university interview and future career.
