Founded in 2006, Real Chinese Academy has always sought to provide quality education. The core mission of Real Chinese Academy is to develop students and teachers with a focus on language learning and cultural exchange.
For almost two decades our school has supported many Chinese and British pupils to acquire a solid knowledge of Chinese language and culture and has formed a professional, diligent, and responsible team of teachers who are truly passionate about education. This is only the beginning of Real Chinese Academy’s development.
To ensure high-quality teaching results, we group students based on their age, Chinese language level, and family background (native and non-native speakers). Our teachers adopt multimedia and tailored learning tools which make the classes more engaging and effective. We have also created WeChat and WhatsApp groups for each class to foster communication with students’ families. Regular meetings with families are held throughout the academic year to discuss students’ progress and receive feedback on how we can improve. We make announcements on Real Chinese Academy’s website and post homework on Classroom so that families can monitor their children’s progress.
Real Chinese Academy focuses on students’ all-round development.
Besides our Chinese language classes, we have the privilege of having world-renowned artist Sheng Qi teach our art and design classes. We also offer public speaking classes taught by famous actress Helen Hobson. Many of our students have passed their LAMDA exams with outstanding results.
To encourage our students’ competitiveness, we offer Mathematics booster classes and 11+ English and Verbal Reasoning classes. These classes are designed to help students deepen their knowledge of the respective subjects so that they can achieve excellent results in exams.
In 2020 we opened Petts Wood Mandarin-English Preschool for children from ages 2 - 5 to promote Mandarin learning from an early age.
Real Chinese Academy’s Headmaster, Zoe Xu, is originally from Beijing and mother of two. Over the past 20 years, she has dedicated herself to researching the difference between Chinese and British education as well as family education.
Real Chinese Academy is growing! From a cohort of six students and only teaching Mandarin classes, Real Chinese Academy now has more than 200 students and offers a broad curriculum. We are proud of our strong track record of academic success at exams. Real Chinese Academy has embarked on a successful path that focuses on quality education and nurturing talent.
